Clear rules for a safer shelf.
My Trade Shelf helps people display items they may consider trading and begin conversations. It is not the buyer, seller, broker, payment processor, shipping provider, insurer, or guarantor in a member exchange.
Effective and last updated: October 15, 2026 · Policy version 2026-10-15-feedback1. Agreement and eligibility
By accessing My Trade Shelf, creating an account, posting content, sending a message, or using a sharing feature, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy and Cookie Policies. You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter this agreement. If you use the service for an organization, you represent that you may bind it.
2. Accounts and member responsibility
Provide accurate account information, protect your password and connected login accounts, and promptly report unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity under your account and for confirming that every item, statement, photograph, price indication, location, and trade proposal you publish is accurate and lawful.
3. What the platform does—and does not do
The service provides visual shelves, individual item pages, search and local discovery, private messaging, watchlists, referrals, reporting, and related tools. My Trade Shelf does not take possession of items, verify ownership or condition, conduct background checks, guarantee identity, settle disputes, guarantee delivery, or make a member complete a trade. Approximate values and price-tag masks are informational and are not appraisals or binding offers.
4. Prohibited items and content
Do not list, request, offer, arrange, promote, or exchange:
- Illegal, stolen, fraudulently obtained, counterfeit, pirated, recalled, or unlawfully imported goods.
- Firearms, ammunition, explosives, destructive devices, weapon components intended to evade law, or other regulated weapons.
- Controlled substances, illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia, cannabis products, prescription drugs, prescription-only medical devices, or adulterated health products.
- Alcohol, tobacco, nicotine products, vaping products, or intoxicants.
- Human remains, body parts, organs, bodily fluids, or items containing undisclosed human material.
- Live animals, animal fighting materials, ivory, protected wildlife, endangered species, or unlawfully obtained animal products.
- Hazardous, toxic, radioactive, infectious, flammable, or improperly packaged materials; pesticides or chemicals transferred contrary to labeling or law.
- Sexual services, exploitative sexual content, intimate imagery shared without consent, or any content involving sexualization or endangerment of a minor.
- Hate material, terrorist content, credible threats, harassment, doxxing, or content encouraging violence or discrimination.
- Government identification, credentials, access devices, keys marketed for unauthorized entry, stolen account credentials, personal data, financial accounts, payment cards, or counterfeit currency.
- Items that infringe copyright, trademark, patent, publicity, privacy, or other rights.
- Lottery interests, gambling instruments, regulated financial products, securities, or schemes promising investment returns.
- Anything whose possession, advertisement, shipment, transfer, or intended use violates applicable law or creates an unreasonable safety risk.
5. Restricted and regulated goods
If an item is age-restricted, licensed, recalled, subject to shipping limits, or regulated in either person’s location, do not post or exchange it unless the platform expressly permits that category and every legal requirement can be met. A listing remaining visible does not mean it is approved. My Trade Shelf may prohibit categories more broadly than local law.
6. Member conduct and equal feedback rights
Every member is accountable for their conduct, whether they own the shelf or initiate contact. After both participants contribute to an approved on-platform conversation, each may leave one editable rating about the other. Feedback must be truthful, relevant to the direct interaction, and free of private information, threats, retaliation, discrimination, review manipulation, or knowingly false claims. Both members receive the same ability to block, report feedback, and request administrative review. Feedback represents member opinion; it is not a platform finding or proof that a transaction occurred. Do not misrepresent an item or identity; hide known damage; spam; scrape member information; evade blocks or enforcement; introduce malware; probe security; automate access without permission; request passwords or verification codes; use referral abuse, fake accounts, or deceptive links; or use the service to facilitate fraud, coercion, discrimination, or unlawful activity.
7. User content and platform license
You retain ownership of your original content. You grant My Trade Shelf a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, resize, format, display, distribute, and create technical derivatives of that content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, promote, and improve the service and its sharing previews. You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed for everything you upload. Remove faces, addresses, documents, license plates, and other information you do not intend to publish.
8. Moderation, reports, and enforcement
We may review reports and relevant content; limit distribution; remove content; preserve evidence; warn, suspend, block, or terminate accounts; restrict features; and cooperate with lawful requests. We are not obligated to pre-screen every listing or message. Do not make knowingly false reports. Reporting to My Trade Shelf does not replace contacting emergency services, law enforcement, a payment provider, or another appropriate authority.
9. Trades, meetings, shipping, and payment
Members decide whether and how to transact and assume the resulting risk. Inspect items, verify funds through the provider itself, document agreements, use tracked shipping where appropriate, and meet in a populated public place. Never rely on payment screenshots or share passwords, security codes, full financial credentials, or unnecessary home-address information. The Trade Safety page is incorporated as guidance, but cannot eliminate risk.
10. Referrals, tokens, tips, and capacity
Referral tokens and capacity benefits are promotional, have no cash value, are non-transferable, and may be corrected or revoked for error, abuse, fraud, or policy violations. Tips are voluntary support and do not purchase ownership, influence, guaranteed uptime, or special treatment. Future paid features will be governed by checkout terms disclosed before purchase.
11. Intellectual-property complaints
Rights holders may report allegedly infringing content with identification of the protected work, the content and URL at issue, contact information, a good-faith statement, an accuracy/authority statement, and a physical or electronic signature. We may remove content and address repeat infringement.
12. Service availability and changes
The service may change, pause, experience errors, lose third-party integrations, impose reasonable limits, or discontinue features. Keep independent copies of important photographs, descriptions, and messages. Archived items are designed for deletion after 30 days and should not be treated as permanent storage.
13. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness, title, non-infringement, accuracy, safety, availability, or transaction outcome. My Trade Shelf and its operator are not liable for member conduct, item defects, personal injury, property loss, fraud, shipping, payment disputes, lost profits, lost data, or indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages. Where liability cannot be excluded, aggregate liability will not exceed the greater of amounts you paid directly to My Trade Shelf during the prior 12 months or US $100.
14. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you will defend and indemnify My Trade Shelf and its operator from claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your content, conduct, transactions, violation of law, infringement of rights, or breach of these Terms.
15. Termination, governing law, and changes
You may stop using the service at any time. We may restrict or terminate access for risk, misuse, legal requirements, or breach. Maine law governs these Terms without regard to conflict-of-law principles, and disputes not subject to a controlling consumer law will be brought in state or federal courts located in Maine. If a provision is unenforceable, the remainder continues. Material updates will be identified by a new effective date; continued use after notice constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
