Your shelf is public. Your private information should not be.
This policy explains what My Trade Shelf collects, why it is used, when it is shared, and the choices available to visitors and members.
Archived version effective: October 14, 2026 · Policy version 2026-10-14This version is retained for reference and is no longer current.
1. Information collected
- Account data: email address, login identifier, public username, optional name, profile description, profile photograph, authentication records, and policy acceptance.
- Member content: shelves, item photographs, titles, descriptions, approximate values, price/status masks, comments, messages, watchlists, feedback, reports, blocks, interests, and exchange preferences.
- Location data: a member-provided city, state, optional ZIP code, and coordinates used for approximate distance. A visitor’s browser coordinates are used for the requested nearby search and are not intended to display a street address.
- Technical data: IP address, browser/device details, timestamps, referring pages, security logs, cookie choices, and diagnostic information ordinarily recorded by WordPress, hosting, security, and network systems.
- Transaction and support data: voluntary tips, subscription or capacity records, referral/token history, support requests, and correspondence. Payment providers process payment credentials; My Trade Shelf should not receive or store complete card or bank credentials.
2. Sources and purposes
Information comes from you, your browser/device, other members interacting with you, connected login providers, payment and notification providers, and hosting/security services. It is used to operate accounts and public shelves; provide search, distance, sharing, messaging, moderation, reporting, blocking, notifications, referrals, and support; prevent abuse; maintain security; comply with law; understand and improve the service; and, when permitted, serve and measure advertising.
3. Public information
Public usernames, profiles, shelves, item pages, photographs, descriptions, approximate values, broad locations, status/price masks, and selected feedback may be visible to anyone and may appear in search engines or shared previews. Public links can be copied by others. Do not upload information you do not want publicly distributed.
4. Sharing and service providers
Information may be disclosed to hosting and WordPress providers; Google and Meta for optional social login; OneSignal for optional push notifications; PayPal for tips or future payments; QR-generation services when a QR image is requested; Google AdSense and authorized advertising vendors after required choices; professional advisers; and authorities or affected parties when reasonably necessary for legal compliance, safety, fraud prevention, or protection of rights. Information may also transfer as part of a merger, financing, reorganization, or sale, subject to applicable law. Personal information is not sold for cash. Certain advertising disclosures may be considered “sale,” “sharing,” or targeted advertising under some state laws; applicable opt-out choices will be honored.
5. Advertising and Google
When advertising is enabled and consent permits, third-party vendors including Google may use cookies or similar technologies to serve, limit, personalize, and measure ads based on visits to this and other sites. Visitors can manage Google ad personalization through My Ad Center and learn how Google uses partner-site information at Google’s partner-sites notice. Non-personalized ads may still use cookies for frequency capping, fraud prevention, and aggregated reporting where consent is legally required.
6. Retention
Information is kept while an account or listing is active and as reasonably needed for the purposes described above. Archived item listings are designed to purge after 30 days. Messages, reports, moderation, security, referral, payment, tax, and legal records may be retained longer when necessary for disputes, abuse prevention, accounting, backups, or legal obligations. Backup copies may persist temporarily after deletion.
7. Security
Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used, but no online service can promise perfect security. Use a unique password, secure connected accounts, avoid sensitive information in messages or photographs, and report suspected compromise promptly.
8. Choices and rights
You may edit much of your profile and listing information, archive or delete items, block members, choose notification channels, and manage cookie choices. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, receive, restrict, object to, or appeal decisions about personal information, and to opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising. Requests may require identity verification. Authorized-agent requests may require proof of authority. You will not be discriminated against for exercising applicable privacy rights.
9. Children
The service is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13 or to anyone below the minimum age required to consent to data processing in their jurisdiction. Accounts require users to be at least 18. If a child’s information was submitted, contact the platform for review and deletion.
10. International use and changes
The service is operated from the United States. Information may be processed in the United States and other countries used by service providers. Applicable safeguards and mandatory local rights continue to apply. Material policy changes will be identified by a revised effective date and, where required, additional notice or consent.
