Introduction

Addiction doesn’t show up as one single shape. Sometimes it’s celebration, sometimes it’s stress, sometimes it’s routine — and sometimes it’s social pressure or performance burnout. The purpose of these guides is to help you identify the pattern that’s driving your drinking right now, then choose a realistic next step: cutting back or quitting.

Placeholders: If this compilation is used in a book, web links can be printed as short URLs or QR codes in your final layout. On the website, these chapters link to separate, updated pages.

How to Use These Guides

1) Start with Self-Test #1

Take Self-Test #1 to identify your dominant pattern. If multiple patterns apply, choose the strongest one first. (In book format, you can include the Self-Test pages earlier or in an appendix.)

2) Read the Tips & Advice

This section explains the pattern and why it’s sticky — without shame — and gives practical “first moves.”

3) Choose your plan: Cut-Back or Quit

Cut-back plans work best when you can consistently follow rules and your drinking isn’t escalating. Quit plans often work best when drinking is daily, rules keep failing, or alcohol is being used for sleep or emotion regulation.

4) Re-test

Retake Self-Test #1 after 2–4 weeks. Your pattern can change as your life changes — and that’s the point: use the tools that match your current reality.
